RIVERSIDE, Calif., — The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died as a result of a solo-vehicle crash that happened in the Orangecrest area of Riverside early Friday morning, Oct. 29. Although officials had earlier listed the victim’s age as 22, Coroner officials have since said the man was actually 21-years-old.

The victim, now identified as Marcus Dupree of Riverside, had been traveling southbound on Trautwein Road when, for unknown reasons, his Nissan careened off the roadway and struck a tree broadside, officials had previously announced.

A Coroner’s release indicated he was pronounced deceased at Riverside Community Hospital at 4:31 a.m., about two hours after the crash was reported.

Riverside PD’s collision investigation is active and ongoing and no further details have been released.

RIVERSIDE, Calif., — Authorities say a local man has passed away after a solo-vehicle traffic accident in the Orangecrest area of Riverside early this morning, Friday, Oct. 29. The deadly crash happened when the driver lost control of their vehicle and smashed into a tree in the area of Trautwein Road and Orange Terrace Parkway, according to officials.

City of Riverside police and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly before 2:30 a.m. after the City’s Public Safety Communications Center began receiving reports of a traffic collision involving a vehicle that crashed broadside into a tree.

When officials arrived they confirmed finding a silver Nissan against a tree adjacent the roadway, with vehicle parts and debris scattered across Trautwein Road. After confirming the driver was critically injured and trapped inside the wreckage of his car, firefighters immediately began a cut and rescue operation to free the victim from his Nissan.

Firefighters eventually managed to pull the victim from the car, and he was rushed to an area hospital where, despite extensive life-saving efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

Described only as a 22-year-old Riverside resident, the man’s name has not yet been released.

Members of the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and assumed the investigation.

During their preliminary investigation MAIT officers determined the victim had been traveling southbound on Trautwein Road when, for unknown reasons, his Nissan careened off the roadway and struck a tree.

The impact left the driver’s side of the sedan crushed inwards, and ultimately caused the victim’s fatal injuries.

Riverside PD’s investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding this collision is urged to call Riverside Police Traffic Detective G. Anderson at (951) 826-8723. Callers can remain anonymous.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
