Motorcyclist airlfted after Hwy. 74 crash near Bee Canyon
VALLE VISTA, Calif., — Authorities say a motorcyclist was airlifted with serious injuries after a collision involving a passenger vehicle in the Valle Vista area yesterday morning, Saturday, Nov. 20. The accident, which brought traffic heading to and from the Idyllwild area to a standstill, happened along a sweeping curve on SR-74 near Bee Canyon.

California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cal Fire – Riverside, and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that the motorcyclist was possibly trapped under the vehicle that struck him and responding from the nearby Cranston Fire Station, officials began arriving at the scene within minutes.
The injured rider was eventually airlifted from the scene and flown to an area trauma center. His current condition was not immediately available.
While officers conducted their preliminary investigation, a wrecked sportbike could be seen just off the highway against a guardrail, with a silver Toyota stopped a few feet away.
After interviewing the involved driver, CHP released the person without charges and continued their investigation.

Although the highway was initially closed while officials worked at the scene, it has since been reopened.
CHP has not yet released any details about the collision, and their investigation remains active and ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
