When officials arrived, they found two wrecked vehicles blocking the roadway, both of which sustained heavy front-end damage. The vehicles were described as a white Ford F150 pickup truck and a blue Nissan hatchback SUV, with airbags deployed in both.

Paramedics began evaluating and treating at least two occupants from the vehicles, including one of whom was later transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

The subsequent collision investigation caused traffic to quickly back up for several miles in both directions, with area residents later reporting significant delays in their travel times. However, traffic returned to normal after the roadway was cleared of the wrecked vehicles.
