Stolen van recovered & fentanyl, meth, heroin seized during Yreka traffic stop – Local woman arrested

YREKA, Calif., — Authorities say a N. Yreka traffic stop led to the arrest of a local woman after she was stopped while driving a stolen van Wednesday, March 2. Fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana, along with glass smoking pipes and other drug paraphernalia were also seized as a result of the stop, according to officials.

City of Yreka Police Officer Bertolucci was on routine patrol when he conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a van, Yreka PD officials later said in a social media release.

A records check revealed the van had been reported stolen at which time officers detained the driver and sole-occupant, Mahailha Gulbranson, of Yreka.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers discovered she was in possession of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana, along with assorted drug paraphernalia.

Gulbranson was arrested at the scene and later booked into the Siskiyou County Jail on a variety of charges related to the stop.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
