Victim, 63, ID’d after fatal offroad vehicle crash in Lakeview
LAKEVIEW, Calif., — Authorities say a man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash involving an offroad vehicle in the unincorporated community of Lakeview, between the cities of Perris and San Jacinto, Friday evening, May 28.
The fatal accident occurred in the area of 5th Street and Yucca Avenue, according to officials.

California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cal Fire – Riverside, and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene around 8 p.m., according to a Cal Fire social media release and sources at the scene.
Responding officials found an offroad vehicle that had overturned, leaving two people injured.
One victim suffered moderate injuries while the second victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene.
The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has since identified Carey Jones, 63, of Perris, as the man killed in the accident. A Coroner’s release indicated he was pronounced deceased at 8:14 p.m.
CHP is investigating the cause of this fatal crash and their investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
