Riverside Fire Department Fights Residential Blaze

On Nov. 23, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to the 1600 Block of Oxford St. in the city of Riverside regarding the report of a residential structure fire at the location.

According to a press release from the Riverside Fire Department, the first fire units on-scene reported heavy smoke coming from the attic area of the single-family dwelling.

The Incident Commander requested an additional engine company, and a breathing support unit. In all, 21 firefighters, three engine companies and two truck companies responded to the residence to control the fire.

As of this report, the fire was reported to be under control, with fire crews still on-scene at the location in the process of overhauling the fire and investigating it’s cause.

Fire personnel were expected to be at the location for at least another hour.

According to the Riverside Fire Department’s press release there were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries as a result of the fire.
