HEMET – With help from Eddie George from Hemet News, a central donation collection location has been established at a local business, for anyone wanting to donate essentials for the mother and son who were recently displaced by a blaze that occurred in Hemet last month on Dec. 14 The family needs clothing, shoes, school supplies, toiletries, sundries and other basic essentials. The fire destroyed the residence and is currently under investigation.

According to a friend of the family, the pair, which includes a 16-year-old boy, needs boy’s shoes size 10 and women’s shoes size 8 to 8.5. The pair also need boy’s pants size 30×34 and medium to large shirts/sweatshirts. The mother wears size 8-10 pants and medium to large shirts.

According to George of Hemet News, anyone wanting to donate can drop of items at the Banana Leaf Asian Fusion restaurant, during their normal business hours. All donations collected will be hand delivered to the family. The restaurant is located at 263 N Sanderson Ave, in the city of Hemet.

HEMET – At 5:00 p.m., The American Red Cross has been requested to assist one adult female and one juvenile male were displaced.

According to neighbors and friends, the pair lost all their clothes and personal belongings in the blaze and the single-mother was requesting assistance in the form of clothes, shoes and school supplies for her 16-year-old school-aged son.

From a friend of the victim’s, “They really need shoes, toiletries and clothing. Boy’s shoes size 10, mom’s shoes size 8 to 8.5. Boys pants 30×34 and medium to large shirts/sweatshirts. Angie wears size 8, 9 or 10 pants it just depends on make shirts medium to large.”

HEMET – On Dec. 14, firefighters worked to control and contain a structure fire reported at a private residence in the city of Hemet.

At about 3:19 p.m., emergency first responders from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a residential structure fire at the 41000 block of Briarwood Avenue in Little Lake.

At 3:27 p.m., the first arriving Fire Chief reported a single family dwelling with an external fire to the rear of the structure.

According to April Newsman, press information officer approximately 20 firefighters from 6 engine companies responded to the fire, which had reportedly been contained as of around 4:00 p.m.
