Riverside PD seeks public’s help with 5 unsolved 2015 murders

RIVERSIDE – Detectives from the Riverside Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit are seeking the public’s assistance on five homicides from 2015 that remain unsolved.

“There are people that have not come forward yet who may have witnessed or have information about those responsible for these murders,” according to a press release from the department. “But more importantly, the families of these victims want justice for their loved ones and to bring closure to their tragic ordeals.”

VICTIM 1 – ALLEN DAMERON

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at about 1:30 a.m., Riverside Police Officers responded to the 4300 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, in Riverside’s Eastside neighborhood, for reports of shots fired. They arrived and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as ALLEN DAMERON, 32-year-old of Riverside.

VICTIM 2 – JUAN CARLOS RAMIREZ

On July 17, 2015, at approximately 12:30 am, Riverside Police Officers responded to the area of 12th Street and Kansas Avenue reference multiple shots being heard in Riverside’s Eastside neighborhood. The Riverside Police Department’s Communication Center received several calls from residents in the immediate area. Once patrol officers arrived, they located an adult male who was suffering from what appeared to be fatal gunshot wounds. The victim was later identified JUAN CARLOS RAMIREZ.

VICTIM 3 – DERRICK BUTLER

On July 18, 2015, at approximately 1:52 am, Riverside Police Officers responded to the 3500 block of Main Street reference a large fight in the middle of the street in Riverside’s Downtown Entertainment District. Once patrol officers arrived, they located a black male adult who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as DERRICK BUTLER, was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

VICTIMS 4 & 5 – JUAN ANTONIO BARTOLA & DOMINGO ESTEBAN

On Friday, October 23, 2015, at 9:36 pm, The Riverside Police Department’s Communications Center received several calls regarding a shooting that occurred at the corner of 7th Street and Kansas Avenue in the Eastside neighborhood of Riverside. When patrol officers arrived, they found three victims on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim, JUAN ANTONIO BARTOLA, of Riverside was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, DOMINGO ESTEBAN, of Riverside was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. The third victim was transported to a local hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations, including the Robert Presley Detention Center, the Southwest Station in Temecula, the Hemet Station, and the Lake Elsinore Station, along with many other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, Personnel and Background Investigations and he finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 10 (soon to be 12) grandchildren.

  • I still want the murder of my nephew solved. ( I have suspicions) Frank Gasperini Jr. was murdered at his rental home in Moreno Valley Ca. On Fathers Day 1987. It’s been so long can anyone help?
