BREAKING: RIVERSIDE: Woman killed during domestic disturbance, man arrested

RIVERSIDE – A man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed a woman to death during a domestic dispute Sunday, Nov. 20. The incident happened at the Springbrook Park Apartments in the 1100 block of N. Orange Street, in the City of Riverside. The apartments are located directly across the street from the Northside Fire Station 6.

Riverside Police Department’s Communications Center received a call about 4:37 p.m., from a caller reporting a family disturbance at the residence.

When officers arrived at the residence they found a male and female lying on the floor. Both were suffering from stab wounds. It has not yet been released how the two subjects are related or if they were involved in a relationship.

City of Riverside firefighter/paramedics treated both subjects at the scene before AMR medics transported both to a local hospital for treatment.

The female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. She has not been identified pending notification of her family. The male subject was treated for non-life threatening stab wounds.

Officers conducted a preliminary investigation and determined the female victim and the male suspect were involved in a domestic dispute. During the dispute the male allegedly stabbed the female multiple times. The male suspect was later arrested and is expected to be booked into jail after he is treated for his stab wounds and released from the hospital.

Detectives from the Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit along with evidence technicians from the Forensics Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. They are being assisted by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and no further details are available.
