RIVERSIDE: Video shows man attempting to lure girl into store’s bathroom

RIVERSIDE – Police officials are seeking help from citizens identifying a man accused of attempting to lure a 6-year-old girl into a bathroom inside a Food 4 Less, located at 3900 Chicago Avenue in Riverside. Click link for follow up story and arrest information.

The incident happened Wednesday, Feb. 15., when an unidentified adult male attempted to lure the young girl into a restroom at the store. As the girl walked towards the woman’s restroom and began to open the door, the man attempt to entice her towards him by telling her “he would give her a treat,” according to a March 8 social media release from Riverside Police Department.

In surveillance footage obtained from the Food 4 Less, the man can be seen motioning from the entrance to the men’s restroom for the little girl to come towards him. The girl then appears to flee into the woman’s bathroom.

Officials described the suspect as a white male, between 60 to 70-years-old, 5’10”, 200 pounds, with gray hair. man could be seen wearing a black or dark shirt with white lettering and unknown graphics.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
