– Friday was hot. Sometimes in excessive heat people get dehydrated and make bad decisions. Maybe that’s why Matteo Vacarro thought that it would be ok to go shopping and pay with counterfeit money. Unfortunately for Matteo, his #funnymoney was not high quality and the store clerk noticed it right away and called Murrieta PD. Officer Bock arrested Matteo for his really bad counterfeit money and a couple of outstanding misdemeanor warrants and delivered him to #thebyrdhouse.
– On Sunday Officer Baker checked on a suspicious vehicle parked near an ATM. Officer Baker contacted the occupants, Jason Parks and Cody Robillard who were rather apprehensive. Not sure why, Officer Baker is a pretty nice guy. #whyyoubuggin #clue #somethingsgoingon Officer Baker quickly figured out why Jason and Cody were on edge; when you have meth, heroin and counterfeit money, you get pretty nervous. Guess where he took them…
– Corporal Abbate was checking Los Alamos Sports Park Tuesday night when he ran into Eli Zech. The parks close at dark and since it was almost midnight, Eli needed to move on. All would have been #fineanddandy except Eli gave Corporal Abbate a fake name. Now why would he do that? Probably because he had a felony warrant. Eli spent the rest of the night in the #CBDC.
– You would think that if you’re on probation, parole and have a felony warrant, you might want to keep a low profile. Not Danielle Labuff. She and her friends Jeremy Bridges and Shawn Tenney drove all the way from Hemet to hang out and party in a hotel parking lot. The officers detained Ms. Labuff for her outstanding felony warrant and the meth hidden in her clothing #notherbra and began talking to Jeremy and Shawn. As Jeremy got out of his vehicle, out fell a loaded gun. #dude #totallynotcool #couldhaveendedmuchworse Could you imagine what would have happened if the gun had gone off while he was sitting on it? #hesprettylucky #forrestgump #noonewillwanttoseethatscar Once it was all sorted out, Danielle went to #CBDC for her warrant and the meth, Jeremy went for the gun #nothis and Shawn went for his warrant.

Trevor Montgomery, 47, recently moved to Shasta County from Riverside County and runs Riverside County News Source and Shasta County News Source. Additionally, he writes for several other news organizations, including Riverside County based newspapers, Valley News, The Valley Chronicle and Anza Valley Outlook, as well as Bonsall/Fallbrook Village News in San Diego County and The Mountain Echo in Shasta County.
Trevor spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg, breaking his back and suffering both spinal cord and brain injuries in an off-duty accident. During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations, including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center and Lake Elsinore Station, along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 – soon to be 15 – grandchildren.
