Woman arrested after officials say she stabbed Hemet man
HEMET — A woman was arrested yesterday, Thursday, Sept. 27, after she allegedly stabbed an acquaintance at a Hemet apartment complex. The stabbing, which left one man hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, stemmed from an argument the two had earlier in the day, according to officials investigating the bloody incident.

City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the Green Tree Park Apts. on the 1100 block of Rosalia Avenue about 6 p.m., after receiving reports of a stabbing that had just occurred.
“The 911 caller advised someone had been stabbed and a female was seen running away from the area,” Hemet Police Lt. Nate Miller later explained.
When officers arrived at the complex they quickly located a 25-year-old, male victim, suffering from stab wounds. The victim confirmed he had been stabbed by a woman later identified as Stephaine Andrea Jackson, 18, of Hemet, and provided officials with her description.
The victim was transported to Hemet Valley Hospital by ambulance and is expected to fully recover from his injuries.
Officers who fanned out and began searching the area soon located a woman on N. Elk St. who matched the description of the suspect. Officers noticed Jackson still had the victim’s blood on her and detained her as the investigation was continuing.
During their investigation officers searched a dirt field in the area of N. Elk St. and Latham Ave. and located a small pocketknife they say was used during the violent incident.
Jackson was later positively identified as the stabbing suspect, at which time officers arrested her. She was eventually transported to Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where she was booked on suspicion of a single count of assault with a deadly weapon. Jail records indicate she remains in custody on $25,000 bail.
