BREAKING: CHP at scene of fatal Hemet crash

HEMET — Details are beginning to emerge after a fatal traffic collision injured two people and left a third person dead in an unincorporated area east of Hemet this morning, Saturday, April 6. Coroner officials have been summoned to the scene of the deadly, two-vehicle crash, which happened at the intersection of Soboba St. and E. Whittier Ave.

CHP, Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters, AMR, and other emergency personnel were first alerted to the deadly collision shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to a CHP incident log. 911 callers reported three victims were injured in the crash.
When officials arrived they found two wrecked vehicles, described as a white Kia Sedan and white Chevy Trailblazer. Both vehicles were off the roadway and several witnesses and good Samaritans had stopped at the scene to offer aid and comfort to those injured in the collision.
At around 10:45 a.m., CHP requested coroner officials respond to the location for one person who succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other two victims declined medical treatment at the scene.
As of this report, coroner officials were still headed to the scene and CHP and other emergency personnel remain at the location, investigating the cause of the deadly wreck.
CHP has not yet released any information regarding the crash, and their investigation is active and ongoing at the scene.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
