Alleged drug dealer apprehended after Upland pursuit
UPLAND — Three people were arrested after a PRCS probationer managed to elude CHP during a dangerous, high-speed pursuit yesterday afternoon, Sunday, April 7. Despite initially evading officers, who were forced to discontinue their pursuit for safety reasons, the trio was apprehended a short time later in Upland.

Upland police officers and other surrounding law enforcement agencies were first alerted to be on the lookout for a dark-colored SUV after the driver eluded CHP during a high-speed pursuit around 1:30 p.m.
Based on the information provided by CHP, Upland officers began searching for the suspect vehicle, locating it about 20 minutes later as the driver pulled into an Auto Zone parking lot, at 234 E. Foothill Blvd.
As officers were about to make contact with the vehicle and its three occupants, the driver, later identified as Matthew Thomas Williams, 33, immediately fled from the SUV. He was quickly apprehended by two officers who gave chase.
A third officer detained the other two occupants of the vehicle.
Williams was booked into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of several counts related to the transportation and/or possession of controlled substance for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting or obstructing arrest, and violation of probation. He could face additional charges related to the initial pursuit with CHP.
Jail records indicate Williams was scheduled to be arraigned at Rancho Superior Court this morning, and he remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.
No information about the other two alleged suspects was immediately available.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
