Riverside police officers were dispatched to the area of Linden St. and Rustin Ave. shortly after 2 a.m., after receiving reports of an armed robbery.
Officers investigating the incident determined the suspect, later identified as David Dumont Kennedy, 29, of Riverside, “brandished and activated a Taser while demanding money from the victim,” RPD later reported.

“The victim, who was unharmed, gave him his money and the suspect fled the area on foot,” explained RPD.
After being provided a description of the suspect, officers began searching the area, eventually locating Kennedy a short time later. Jail records indicate he was apprehended and arrested several blocks away on Blaine St.
Based on their investigation, Kennedy was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of second-degree robbery, being a felon in possession of a stun gun, and violation of probation. He remains in custody and is being held without bail.
