Drive-up Covid-19 testing center opens in Lake Elsinore
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — Residents in portions of Southern California can now be screened and to make their appointments for COVID-19 testing online using the Baseline COVID-19 website. The testing will be done at The Diamond Stadium in Lake Elsinore.
Those living within 50 miles of Riverside, CA can now screen symptoms and risk factors online and if eligible, participate in testing at the Diamond Stadium, which has been designated as a Community-Based Testing Site (CBTS). CBTS are California state directed, and federally supported testing centers.

“We are excited about this expansion of testing capacity because it allows us to ramp up our responsiveness to our communities,” said Riverside University Health System – Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari. “As a California Community-Based Testing Site, Riverside County residents will be able to screen their symptoms and risk-factors online, and if eligible, schedule a testing appointment using the Baseline website. This means that the more people who need the test can get it.”
Cars with people seeking Covid-19 testing quickly began lining up after Covid-19 testing began at the Diamond Stadium in Lake Elsinore. Those seeking testing must be pre-screened online and the site does not accept walk-in or drive-ins without appointments.
In addition, the drive-up testing in Lake Elsinore will have additional test kits and equipment with this expansion.
If you believe you are at risk for COVID-19 and live within 50 miles of Riverside, CA, screening and testing availability can be found at projectbaseline.com/covid-19. People must be screened as high risk to make an appointment and the site is unable to take walk-ins.

Residents may still call 800-945-6171 to make an appointment over the phone for the Lake Elsinore testing site, but will soon be directed to the website for all appointments. All appointments for the drive-up testing site in the Coachella Valley will continue to be made over the phone.

Trevor Montgomery, 48, moved in 2017 to the Intermountain area of Shasta County from Riverside County and runs Riverside County News Source and Shasta County News Source. Trevor spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg, breaking his back, and suffering both spinal cord and brain injuries in an off-duty accident. During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
