SERVPRO offers decontamination services to local PD as COVID-19 crisis continues
ANDERSON, Calif. — With the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis continuing to dominate area and world headlines, a nationwide company recently offered – free of charge – their cleaning, sanitation and decontamination services for all Anderson Police Department patrol vehicles.

Anderson PD recently shared news of the free decontamination process offered to their department, which was provided by SERVPRO Of North Shasta, Trinity & Greater Tehama Counties, after the company offered the service.
Technicians then spent a day at the department, performing a thorough and professional decontamination and sanitation of the agency’s vehicles.

“This service allows our officers to have the peace of mind knowing their patrol vehicles are free of contagions such as COVID-19 and allows them to continue safely serving our great community,” APD officials explained in their social media post thanking SERVPRO for their service both to the department as well as the community.
Contacted for more information about the decontamination and sanitation process provided to Anderson PD, SERVPRO’s Sales and Marketing Manager Laura Lopez Burgdorf told SCNS they contacted the department and offered their services to the agency to provide the safest work environment possible for Anderson police officers.
“We offered the service because we had an opportunity to help the everyday heroes at Anderson Police Department with something that we do best, because these officers are community driven and put their lives on the line each and every day, even risking exposure to infection,” Burgdorf told SCNS.
“We wanted to do what we could to give them some peace of mind, and we thought, ‘why not?’,” said Burgdorf; explaining, “The decontamination we provided eliminated any emerging pathogens officers may have come in contact with.”
In addition to the free service offered Anderson PD, SERVPRO has also been providing botanical, hospital grade decontamination wipes to first responders, according to Burgdorf; who said the company plans to offer additional decontamination services in the future.
“Aside from helping residents and businesses with decontamination services and restoration, we have partnered with United Shasta in purchasing gift cards from local businesses and giving them away in our LoveLocal monthly Giveaway,” said Burgdorf.
“For the month of April and May, United Shasta Nonprofit has joined us in helping families and businesses during the shutdown,” Burgdorf continued; saying, “We are honored to be able to help in any way we can.”

Trevor Montgomery, 48, moved in 2017 to the Intermountain area of Shasta County from Riverside County and runs Riverside County News Source and Shasta County News Source. Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
