Multi-agency Anderson probation/warrant sweep nets 16
ANDERSON, Calif. — Sixteen people who were found to be out of compliance with the terms of their probation or had outstanding warrants were arrested during an Anderson multi-agency probation compliance and warrant sweep Thursday, June 18.

During last Thursday’s sweep, Anderson Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit, along with the Shasta County Probation Department, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations teamed up to conduct the probation compliance and warrant sweep.
The operation happened throughout the City of Anderson and southern Shasta County, officials have since announced in a social media release.

Although several of the contacted subjects were found to be in compliance with the terms of their probation and were not found with any illegal items in their possession, according to officials sixteen other area residents were caught up in the sweep and arrested.
Some of the arrested individuals were booked into Shasta County Jail in Redding, while those found to have committed misdemeanor crimes or had misdemeanor warrants were cited and then released at the scene.
Those arrested during Thursday’s sweep included:
- Paul Griffin, 31: Maintaining a house for the purpose of using and/or selling drugs
- Joann Lindley, 53: Possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia
- Cheng Saefong, 37: Felon in possession of ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia
- Lana Lewis, 68: Two felony warrants
- Robert Benefield, 37: Possession of illegal weapon and misdemeanor warrant
- Joseph Maulstby, 30: Felony warrant
- Madison Fisher, 21: Felony warrant, possession of methamphetamine
- Sean Hamilton, 48: El Dorado County felony warrant
- Michelle Welsh, 40: Felony warrant
- Ryan Goodeill, 40: Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Brandon Foster, 36: Misdemeanor warrant
- Michael Madison, 40: Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Shadow Nieman, 29: Misdemeanor warrant
- Gary Mitts, 54: Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Adam Crossan, 29: Felony and misdemeanor warrants
- Stacey Shryock, 50: Felony warrant
After the sweep, many area residents applauded APD’s actions, including Paul Prince, of Cottonwood, who commented on the department’s social media release writing, “Thankful for the Law Enforcement Community (here) in Shasta & Tehama Counties! Good job!”
“You are appreciated, and I pray that these men and women will make the necessary changes in their lives to stop the cycle they are in.” Prince continued.

“Great job and collaboration with other probation units to keep people accountable,” Heather O’Connor, also of Cottonwood, commented online.
Bonnie Smith was also one of hundreds to comment APD’s social media release, writing, “Thank you again Anderson Police for making our community safe! You are our heroes!”

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
