City of Hemet Police and Fire, along with AMR, were first alerted to the situation around 5:30 p.m., after receiving a 911 call reporting that a shooting victim was being rushed to Hemet Valley Hospital by his brother.
Official radio traffic at the time indicated the victim’s brother told emergency dispatchers that he and his injured brother were racing toward town and were in the area of State St. and Domenigoni Parkway.

Responding emergency personnel located the vehicle in the area of State St. and Johnston Ave., where they immediately began evaluating and treating the shooting victim; who had reportedly been shot twice in the abdomen area.
Based on the victim’s injuries, a Mercy Air Ambulance was requested to the scene to airlift the man to Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley.
The victim was reportedly in stable condition when he was airlifted by the helicopter, after the airship landed in the roadway near the intersection.
Officials are now investigating the shooting, which the victim and his brother claimed happened during a family dispute between the victim and his uncle
Although the pair told officers the shooting happened somewhere in the Anza area, no corroborating details or other information have been released by any of the investigating agencies.
This is a developing story that will be updated as new information becomes available.
