Man dies after run over by multiple cars in Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Officials say a man who was run over by multiple cars in Moreno Valley died Monday evening, Aug. 17.

The deadly incident happened at the intersection of Perris Blvd. and Gloria St., near Alessandro Blvd., according to officials.

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station and other emergency personnel responded to the area about 9:38 p.m., after receiving reports of a pedestrian who was run over by multiple cars, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Nathan Kaas has since said of the deadly incident.

When officials arrived at the scene they found a man’s lifeless body in the roadway and confirmed he had already succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials have since identified the victim as Juan Carlos Perez, 28, of Moreno Valley. A coroner’s release indicated he was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:42 p.m.

Members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team were summoned to the location and have assumed the investigation, which they are handling as a traffic related matter, according to a social media release.

While officials worked at the scene, deputies called for the temporary closure of Perris Blvd., between Alessandro Blvd. and Bay Ave. The roadway was re-opened several hours later after the conclusion of the preliminary accident investigation.

The identities of the involved drivers were not released and at this time officials do not suspect alcohol and/or drug intoxication to be contributing factors in the man’s death.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
