TEMECULA, Calif. — Authorities say the discovery of a Murrieta woman’s body inside a vehicle that was found down a steep embankment in Temecula has led to the arrest of a Murrieta man.

Deputies made the discovery in the area of Camino Estribo and Pujol Street, south of Temecula’s Old Town, Thursday evening, March 18.

Officials, who initially described the case as a “suspicious death” investigation, identified the victim as 30-year-old, Cynthia Denise Ibarra-Cabrera, of Murrieta.

As their investigation continued, on Saturday, March 20, investigators arrested Edwin Omar Cordova, 28-years-old, out of Murrieta.

Online jail records indicate Cordova was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of first-degree murder with malice. He remains in custody where he is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at Murrieta’s Southwest Justice Center on March 24.
