City of Hemet Police and Fire personnel who responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. found a man who had sustained a knife-related injury to his abdomen. They also located and detained a man, since identified as Truman Kiley, 55, who was believed to have been involved in the stabbing.

Video filmed at the scene of the arrest by citizen reporter group Hemet Crime Society and later shared on social media showed that when Kiley was brought out for an in-field identification the victim, who was still being evaluated and treated by paramedics at the scene, could be heard yelling, “That’s the guy that stabbed me, right there!”

The positive identification caused a brief argument between the pair, with Kiley yelling back in response, “No, I did not do that!

“You stabbed me!”, the victim angrily responded; to which Kiley yelled, “No I did not! What the hell are you talking about?”

At that point Kiley was led to a nearby patrol vehicle. He was later transported to Larry D. Smith Correctional in Banning where he was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and assault resulting in great bodily injury.
