Deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the home around 10:05 p.m., after receiving reports of an unknown trouble, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Ben Ramirez later said of the incident and arrest.

When deputies arrived they heard sounds of distress inside the residence and forced entry into the home.

Deputies who could hear sounds of distress coming from inside a San Jacinto residence forced entry into the home and found 27-year-old Mauro Villiasenor suffering from major traumatic injuries that led to his death. Deputies also found Wynette Clara Nunez, 27, inside the residence and have charged her with first-degree murder.

“Deputies entered and found a male victim with significant injuries,” Ramirez explained; adding that deputies also detained a woman at the home.

Although deputies immediately began life-saving efforts and requested paramedics and other emergency personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene.

Deputies secured the home as a crime scene and investigators from the San Jacinto Station and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

“This case was determined to be a domestic violence incident … and the suspect was identified as Wynette Clara Nunez, 27, of San Jacinto,” the Sergeant explained.

Based on their subsequent investigation, officials arrested Nunez and she was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of first-degree murder. Online jail records indicate she remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail or bond.
