California Highway Patrol, along with Cal Fire-Riverside and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a solo-vehicle crash, CHP Officer Juan Quintero has since reported.

When officials arrived they found an overturned vehicle on its roof on Campbell Ranch Road underneath the I-15 overpass. The victim had already succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene, according to a Cal Fire social media release.

The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has since identified Bianey Ramos, 29, of Garden Grove, as the woman killed in the crash. A Coroner’s release indicated she was pronounced deceased at 10:10 p.m.

CHP’s preliminary investigation indicated Ramos was traveling northbound on I-15 and for reasons still under investigation, she lost control of her vehicle and collided with an adjacent center median guardrail.

“The force of the collision caused the vehicle to overturn and roll down the dirt median between the northbound and
southbound lanes of I-15,” Quintero explained; saying, “The vehicle came to rest on its roof on Campbell Road, under the I-15.”

“Due to the violent nature of the collision, the driver of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries,” Quintero added.

CHP’s investigation is active and ongoing and officials have asked that anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not yet provided a statement to call the California Highway Patrol’s Accident Investigation Unit at (951) 637-8000. Callers can refer to incident file number 9840-2021-13015 and can remain anonymous.
