Members of the Moreno Valley Sheriff Station’s Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) began following up on a commercial burglary investigation after a business in the 13000 block of Perris Boulevard was burglarized, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Martinez has since reported.

During the service of the warrant, RBST members recovered a large amount of stolen property, including laptops, cameras, cell phones, and other electronics, as well as items related to identity theft. RSO booking photo

While investigating that burglary, RBST deputies began to link other similar burglaries that had been occurring throughout the city. As their investigation continued, deputies developed leads and gathered information that ultimately led them to identifying the suspect as Jaime Diaz, 30, of Perris.

As their investigation continued, on Tuesday, Nov. 9, RBST personnel served a search warrant at Diaz’ residence in the 400 block of Deerhill Road in Perris.

Diaz was detained at the home while RBST served the warrant, which uncovered stolen items related to multiple burglaries throughout the city, according to Martinez; who added that multiple items related to identity theft were recovered from the home.

Based on their investigation and findings, officials arrested Diaz and he was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of nine felony charges and four misdemeanor charges related to burglary, fraud, identity theft, forgery and possession of drugs and drug related paraphernalia.

Callers can refer to incident file number MV212770119 and can remain anonymous.

Online jail records indicate that Diaz’ $20,000 bail or bond has been posted, but he had not yet been released from custody as of this report. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall Of Justice on Nov. 12.
