Investigation continuing after man found murdered in Norco

NORCO, Calif., — Authorities say a homicide investigation is continuing after a man was found murdered in the 1500 block of Temescal Avenue, between First and Second streets, in the City of Norco Wednesday evening, Dec. 22.

Deputies from the Norco and Jurupa Valley Sheriff Stations were dispatched to the scene shortly after 7:30 p.m. after receiving the report of an assault with a deadly weapon, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Richard Carroll has since reported.

When they arrived, deputies located a deceased adult male “with obvious trauma,” Carroll explained; saying deputies secured the area as a crime scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s murder.

Investigators from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending further investigation and notification of the man’s family.

No suspects have been identified yet and the murder investigation is ongoing, according to Carroll.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
