UPDATE: Brothers arrested after multiple victims shot and stabbed during marijuana dispensary robbery

BANNING — Authorities from three law enforcement agencies in two counties worked together to apprehend two Beaumont brothers who officials allege shot and stabbed multiple victims while robbing a marijuana dispensary.

The incident happened Saturday, June 23, at Go Green Calming Solutions on the 6000 block of West Ramsey Street.

The victims were transported to area hospitals and were listed in stable condition, according to Banning PD officials. All are expected to survive.

As the investigation was continuing detectives obtained arrest warrants for the two brothers and with help from Desert Hot Springs and San Diego Police Departments both suspects were taken into custody yesterday.

Although neither brother had been booked as of this report, jail records indicate Raymond Matus was arrested June 18, just five days before last Saturday’s robbery. He was jailed on suspicion of grand theft and released within hours of being booked, after posting $30,000 bail.

“This is everything that’s wrong with California’s broken justice system,” Banning resident and Go Green Calming Solutions customer James Mullahey angrily said after learning of the brothers’ arrest. “These punks know they can commit any crimes they want and they know they will be released within hours.”

“There’s just no justice for the good citizens of this state,” Mullahey continued, “and it’s the victims of these brazen crimes that end up paying the ultimate price.”

BANNING — Banning police officials are searching for two suspects they say shot and stabbed multiple victims during a robbery at a marijuana dispensary late Saturday night, June 23. Both men were captured on video surveillance during the robbery.

The pair is considered armed and dangerous and officials are asking for any information to help to identify, locate, and apprehend the two men.

Banning Police Officers were dispatched to Go Green Calming Solutions on the 6000 block of West Ramsey Street just before 11 p.m., after victims called 911 to report a robbery with several people shot and stabbed, Lt. Vincent Avila explained after the incident.

When officers arrived they found “multiple victims suffering from both gunshot wounds and stab wounds,” said Avila. The victims were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

Officials did not specify how many victims were injured during the violent incident or what was taken during the robbery.

Based on the circumstances, detectives were summoned to the location and assumed the investigation. During their subsequent investigation, detectives learned the two men walked into the business shortly before it closed and robbed the business.

Authorities described the first suspect as a Hispanic male, 18-27, with light skin and short brown hair. The suspect was about 5’-9” to 6’-0” tall, and weighed approximately 180 lbs. He was wearing a black “San Diego” hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, and was armed with a knife.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 21-30, with light skin, short hair that was shaved on the sides, and light facial hair on his chin.

The suspect was about 5’-6” to 5’-9”, 210 lbs. He was wearing a black “LRG” hooded sweat shirt, dark shorts, and was armed with a handgun.

The two men were last seen driving away in a dark-colored, unknown make or model sedan.
