IDYLLWILD — Officials have announced that the body of missing Idyllwild resident David Bradish, 80, was found over the weekend. Bradish, who suffered from Alzheimer’s, had been missing for two weeks, when his body was discovered Saturday, Dec. 8.

According to Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials, Bradish’s body was found on Chipmunk Drive, barely a mile from where he was last seen Nov. 26, in the 54-500 block of North Circle Drive.

Although specific details of Bradish’s death were not immediately available, grieving family members later reported the victim possibly died of hypothermia.

IDYLLWILD — More than 50 citizens along with area Search and Rescue personnel are continuing “a large-scale ground search” today for an 80-year-old, Idyllwild man who reportedly suffers from stage-two Alzheimer’s disease and was last seen Monday afternoon.

Now missing for three days, with daytime temperatures in the low 50s and overnight temperatures dipping into the 30s, search and rescue teams are desperate to locate the critical missing man.

The victim, who has been identified as David Elliot Bradish, was last seen in the 54500 block of North Circle Dr., northeast of the Town’s center, according to the Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Sinz. Search and Rescue teams from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were reportedly headed to Idyllwild this morning to assist in the ongoing search

Now in its third day, an “extensive search” is continuing for 80-year-old, Idyllwild resident, David Bradish, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and was last seen Monday afternoon.

Bradish, who family members and sheriff’s officials have said does not drive, does not have a mobile phone, and may have been walking a reddish-colored, Cocker-mix dog named “Ginger”, say the octogenarian’s disappearance is out of character.

According to a social media post by family friend, Becky Kretsinger King, bloodhound tracking dogs had followed Bradish’s scent “past forest lumber to the campground and back up to the chevron in town.”

At one point during the search, tracking dogs also picked up and followed the victim’s possible scent in the Mountain Center area near REPS Training Center at 29430 Hwy 243, and SAR officials are now asking for help searching the Mountain Center area as well as Hurkey Creek, Lake Hemet, and surrounding areas.

Another concerned family member, Fullerton resident Meghan O’Brien, implored searchers and community members to “knock on doors, identify yourself, and ask if you can walk the property looking for Dave,” asking them to “check outbuildings and vacation homes for forced entry, look under decks, porches, and leaf piles.”

Bradish has been described as white, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with receding gray hair and blue eyes. He usually wears glasses and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black or dark-colored denim pants, a black baseball cap, and dark shoes.

Hemet Station investigators have assumed the investigation and are leading the ongoing search efforts and following up on all available leads as to his possible whereabouts. A Command Center has been established at Idyllwild Fire Station, where search efforts are being coordinated.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
