MEAD VALLEY, Calif., — Authorities have confirmed that a second man suspected of being involved in the fatal shooting another man in Mead Valley last Friday afternoon, Aug. 6 has been arrested. The first suspect, Cesar Verduzco Rojas, 51, of Mead Valley, was apprehended the day after the fatal shooting that stole the life of 24-year-old Mead Valley resident, Jose Emmanuel Zamora.

As their investigation continued on August 9, at around 7:40 p.m., deputies from the Major Crimes Unit and Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team detained the second suspect in this case, at 42nd St. and Riverview Dr., in Jurupa Valley.

The second suspect, Allan Melgham Ramirez, 40 years of Jurupa Valley, was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of murder, where he remains held without bail.

MEAD VALLEY, Calif. — Authorities today announced the swift arrest of a man suspected of gunning down another man in Mead Valley last Friday afternoon, Aug. 6. The alleged gunman was apprehended the day after the fatal shooting that stole the life of 24-year-old Mead Valley resident, Jose Emmanuel Zamora.

Officials began investigating Zamora’s murder after he was found inside a car with a gunshot wound last Friday. Despite life-saving efforts Zamora succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene.

During their subsequent investigation, officials developed leads and gathered information that ultimately led them to identifying Cesar Verduzco Rojas, 51, of Mead Valley, as the driver of the suspect vehicle at the time of the shooting, Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit Sergeant Ben Ramirez has since reported.
Late the following afternoon, at around 5:17 p.m., deputies assigned to the Perris Station’s Special Enforcement Team spotted the suspect vehicle near Cajalco Rd. and Tyler Rd., where they stopped and ultimately arrested Rojas for Zamora’s murder.
Rojas was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder. Online jail records indicate he remains in custody where he is being held without bail.

Original Story: Man found fatally shot in Mead Valley, search for gunman continuing
MEAD VALLEY, Calif., — Officials today are continuing to search for those responsible for the fatal shooting of a man who was found dead inside a vehicle in the unincorporated community of Mead Valley Friday afternoon, Aug. 6. The deadly shooting happened in the 22800 block of Rios Avenue, southwest of Martin Street and Seaton Avenue.
Deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the scene around 4 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon that had just occurred, Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit Sergeant Ben Ramirez has since reported.
When deputies arrived they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts the victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene.
Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials later identified the victim as Jose Emmanuel Zamora, 24, of Mead Valley.
The area was secured as a crime scene and investigators from the Perris Station and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation, which is active and ongoing.
